For the past 8 years, Mike has been living with stage 4 cancer.

And through all of it, we’ve been incredibly fortunate.

We’ve had more time than we ever expected. He’s been able to be present for his kids, and we’ve worked hard to keep a sense of normal life through all of this. I’ve been able to build a career that supports our household, and we don’t take that stability for granted.

We’ve handled everything privately. No fundraisers. No asking for help. Just doing what needed to be done.

But after 8 years, the weight of this has caught up to us.

Mike is now in constant, daily pain.

And at the same time, the financial reality of long-term illness is overwhelming.

Between years of treatment, out-of-pocket medical costs, and trying to maintain life through all of it, he now carries a significant amount of debt on top of everything else.

And the truth is—until that pressure is relieved, it’s very hard for him to prioritize the care that could actually help him feel better day to day.

The therapies, specialists, and support that could improve his quality of life are not fully covered by insurance. His deductible alone is $16,000, and many meaningful options are entirely out of pocket.

He continues to show up as a father and keep moving forward, even when it’s hard.

This fundraiser is about creating relief on multiple levels:

- Reducing the financial burden that has built up over years of treatment

- Making it possible for him to access care that helps manage pain and improve daily life

- Bringing some stability so he can focus on his health and time with his kids

We feel incredibly grateful for the time we’ve had—and we are doing everything we can to make the most of the time ahead.

This is a starting goal to begin reducing the financial pressure and making immediate care possible.

Funds will be used to support Mike’s care, reduce financial strain, and help create more good days for him.
