Hi everyone. I’m fundraising for my Dad, Mike. I’m not good at this stuff so bare with me.
There is nothing like hearing those words and realizing options are very limited without the means to pay for travel expenses, medical bills, prescription drugs and a monthly injection of a synthetic hormone therapy called Sandostatin that he will likely need to take for the rest of his life. We are currently waiting to see if Medicare covers the cost of this injection and how much will be out of pocket. This injection will be in addition to any treatment and/or surgery Stanford feels is necessary.
We believe wholeheartedly that my dad, Mike, has a fighting chance. He’s only 68 years young and has so much life left to live. I humbly ask for donations, whether it be monetary, gas cards, etc.. that will help my parents with the astronomical costs this will incur. Anything you can give would be greatly appreciated.

My heart breaks to share the bad news but there’s some positive here as well.
Both my parents met with my dad’s oncologist on 1/19/22 and had me on speakerphone throughout the visit. My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 Neuroendocrine Carcinoma. His cancer spread to spleen, liver, aortic lymph nodes and possibly outside of his colon.
The good news, because this is where our focus will be moving forward… My dad was referred to Stanford for more testing, including possible treatment or surgery options. More good news is that this is likely a low grade, slow growing cancer. (Dr thinks dad may have had this for months if not years). My dad is not in pain and is optimistic that there’s a treatment option that’s right for him out there that will provide him with quality of life. Stage 4 does not mean there’s no hope so we’re asking for continued love and prayers. Lots of additional testing and Dr appointments to come.
