Help Mike Monroe Fight Rare, Aggressive Cancer

Mike Monroe — a devoted husband, father, outdoorsman, and hard-working employee of ILPEA — is now in the fight of his life.

He was recently diagnosed with Signet Ring Cell Carcinoma, a rare and aggressive hereditary form of colon cancer. At Stage 3, Mike is undergoing intense chemotherapy three days a week through mid-November. Despite his strength and resilience, this journey has brought major challenges — emotionally, physically, and financially.

Mike’s FMLA and short-term disability end next week, and his employer has threatened to terminate his position. This means he will be left without income during the most critical stage of treatment — all while battling daily side effects from chemo and fighting to stay strong.

A man who spent his life in the woods and on the water, bass fishing and rabbit hunting were Mike’s greatest joys. He’s been married to his wife Myrtle for 37 years, and together they’ve raised two daughters, Cora and Andrea, who are now doing everything they can to support their dad.

We’re asking for your help to ease the financial burden so Mike can focus on healing. Donations will help cover rent, groceries, transportation to treatment, medical bills, and basic living expenses during this difficult time.

Mike has always been a man who shows up for others. Now, it’s our turn to show up for him.

Please consider donating or sharing. Every gift — no matter the size — makes a difference. Thank you for being part of Team Mike Monroe.
