Help Mike Fight Esophageal Cancer

This is Mike's story. They are going to be back and forth to Atlanta for treatments and surgery. Just want them to have funds to cover things and bills. If any money is not used that is raised, it will be donated to a cancer organization of Mike's choice.

Ok family so his cancer appears to be late stage 2..early 3..but we’re gonna have to have another endoscopy so they can see how many layers it went through. We will have that done in Morganton. We are coming home tomorrow. He’s gonna have chemo every two weeks, four times of it so it will be done by the end of May he’ll get a rest. And then he will have a major surgery like 7 hours to take his esophagus out and pull his stomach up to make him an esophagus so he will not have a stomach, and will have to watch fatty foods and sweets to see how they react. It is contained, though there’s a couple lymph nodes near it that may be affected, which they will take care of. They said with all this, he will have a feeding tube for a while a liquid diet, and then soft foods and then eventually regular foods and then after he heals he will have 4 more chemo treatments every 2 weeks. They said the cause of this is like Gerd … acid reflux and it’s been happening over the years and it just turned into cancer and that probably having that surgery for deviated septum with the tube down his throat saved his life so that we found it before it got to stage four. mike’s pretty upset because he was hoping it was not as bad and he wouldn’t have to have that major surgery but it is what it is.. day at a time and we’ll get through it. We’ll be flying back-and-forth.

anyway y’all that’s where we’re at we still need lots of prayer…but they said he could be cancer free by the end of the year so that’s what we’re counting on!
