My name is Norman Hansen. On December 2, 2021, my big brother, Michael, along with over 60 other people were forced to evacuate their condominiums when the City of Waukesha, Wisconsin condemned the building, Horizon West Condos. While doing some maintenance on the building, contractors discovered structural issues that indicated the building was in danger of collapse.

Residents had to leave with what little they could carry out in a few minutes. Reports are that the building will be demolished. My brother and many of the other residents who have been in touch with their insurance companies are being told that their policies will not cover the loss.

These people are losing their homes and most of their possessions, while still being responsible for continued mortgage payments, real estate taxes, and eventual expenses for demolition of the building they can no longer live in. Meanwhile, they need to find new housing and begin to rebuild their lives.

As heart breaking as this loss is, I thank God that the structural damage was discovered before a catastrophic event that would almost certainly have resulted in loss of life. If you would share in helping Michael through this difficult time in his life it would be very much appreciated and a real encouragement to him.
