I’m a 75-year-old Vietnam Air Combat Veteran who flew 137 combat missions over Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia. Seven years ago, I was diagnosed with severe COPD, along with Emphysema, Chronic Bronchitis, and also was told with 100% certainty, that I was exposed to Agent Orange. I currently have only 31% pulmonary function. I receive no financial aid from the V.A. from any disability claims I have made. I was told that if I had come down with Type Two Diabetes, I would be receiving disability payments.

I do receive oxygen tanks from them and I’m grateful for that. However, those tanks are very hard for me to lug around and manage, so I have also been using a portable oxygen concentrator to help me do shopping, get to medical appoints, mow the lawn, get to visit friends & family and get out to the occasional breakfast with my wife who is also disabled.

On May 23rd of this year, I had an extremely severe exacerbation of the COPD, and a 911 call later I was admitted to my local hospital where I spent the 1st five days in Intensive Care, on a ventilator. I ended up spending 14 days in the hospital. Following that, I was transferred to a Rehabilitation Hospital where I’ve now been for 3 ½ weeks, and am facing several more weeks of rehab.

My old portable oxygen concentrator is on its last legs, and I need a new one with the settings I need, which is at times up to 6 liters per minute. That’s the reason I’m reaching out to you for help. A new portable concentrator, with 2 large batteries, 1 small battery, charger, and carry bag costs $5600.00 which includes the fees that Go Fund Me Charges. So, I’m asking you to help me breath again, Please….
