On January 7th, Mike and Megan lost everything in the devastating Palisades Fire, including the home they lovingly built in back in 1985. They barely made it out with their dog, narrowly missed being trapped in the highlands when their only road out was blocked by the fire and debris. This fire, which swept through Pacific Palisades, has left them with nothing but memories and the hope to rebuild what was lost. For nearly four decades, their house has been a cornerstone of their lives—a place of family, a home to their 3 children, love, and countless cherished moments.

Mike and Megan's children are reaching out to you, their community, friends, and kind-hearted strangers, to help them begin the difficult journey. Every penny raised will go toward uncovered expenses including temporary housing, recovery and the essentials they lost in the fire.

The McDermotts need to restart their lives and this process will take both time and resources. Until they can return home, Mike and Megan need support for immediate living expenses. In addition to the material losses, they have lost priceless memories, photographs, and irreplaceable keepsakes from the past decades.
