It is with an extremely heavy heart that we share with you all that Mike passed away with his family surrounding him five days after Thanksgiving.

Friends of Michael and Lisa Serard are looking for your love, kindness, and generosity in their ultimate time of need.

Mike had recently received the terrible diagnosis that he has cancer. As many of you know, he is a loving husband to his wife Lisa of over 42 years, the best dad in the world to his sons Ben and Josh, and the greatest buddy to his granddaughter Riley. Whenever anyone is in need, Mike is the person that would come right over to give a hand. When Mike's friend passed away in a two-month period, he helped his widow by emptying their house, selling their car, and putting together all of the bills, just so she would not have any burdens. This is only one example of his integrity, compassion, guidance, kindness, humility, and wisdom.

Two months ago, their life went from happily ever after to crisis mode. It all started when Mike was on the field coaching his 8th-grade soccer team and he started to have some vision issues that quickly turned into a severe medical situation. He was being treated at Mass General Hospital in Newton, MA, battling liver cancer that had metastasized to his bones, including his spine.

There will be many expenses to take care of and any donation, no matter how small, will help and be greatly appreciated. We wanted to start this fund to help them while Mike fought the battle and now we want to help Lisa to ease some of the financial burdens that will surely come with the loss of her husband.
