Hello, My name is Kat and pictured is my husband Mike. A message from Mike: Hello, we had planned to be out of Alaska by the first week of June, but unforeseen circumstances had prevented us from leaving. Then conditions started snowballing, using our travel funds to continue to live in Fairbanks. To top it all off I had to have my left foot amputated because of an infection in the bone. Our savings is about gone, now we have to spend the rest of our savings to fix our Pathfinder that we had bought to replace the dodge (It just broke down on Friday the 30th coming home from one of Mike's doctor appointments), and right now travel is not feasible. Assistance from the government isn’t till October if at all and work is the same (can’t walk yet).

Kat’s medical condition started over a year ago, with spinal cord surgery that failed. There are no neurologist or physiologist here to treat her, so the plan to relocate from here started. Then the loss of our truck in January cemented our plans. Our Alaskan adventure was coming to an end, 22 1/2 years ago when this started, it was a fresh and new experience away from family and friends. Alone and on our own we managed to live comfortably and love Alaska. Our family grew here with grandchildren after our daughter came up here to visit us and decided to stay. She married a great and caring man from here that has helped us in the past but unforeseen circumstances have made it difficult for them to help us now.

I would like us to be out of Fairbanks, Alaska before the first snowfall, which usually happens at the end of September or early October. Anything that you can do to help us out would be greatly appreciated and thank you so very much for your consideration.
