- Hi, my name is Mike de Armas. I’m a 100% disabled veteran who’s going through some tough times. I used to live in Sarasota, Florida, where my rent was $1,350. I was happy there, but unfortunately, I had to move to Miami to be closer to my family for a medical procedure that went well. However, living here is so expensive, and the high population is making my condition worse.
I live alone with my little dog, Barney, whom I’ve had for 15 and a half years. He’s been my peace and joy since I moved here. I’ve had multiple vet visits because of his age. He can’t walk on his own anymore, so I have to be here for him. He’s adjusting well to his cart.
I’m very sad because I don’t have any money left over for myself or Barney. I’m behind on rent by $2,028, and my light bill is $84. If anyone can help me catch up on rent, you can pay them directly. My goal is to leave in March when my lease is up and return to Sarasota, where I can live comfortably. This is the first time in my life that this has happened to me. I thought I’d try this.
