Travel update none of us expected — surgery was not on Mike’s Christmas list this year. While on a cruise, Mike suffered a strangulated hernia, a serious and life-threatening condition that required immediate emergency care. He was airlifted off the ship. Medical evacuations like this are incredibly expensive, and at this point it’s still unclear what insurance will cover — or when.

Between the emergency airlift, medical care, transport, upcoming surgery, and additional travel costs, the expenses are adding up quickly. Our family is doing everything we can to support Mike and Scotty, but the financial burden is overwhelming.
