Help Mikaela & Baby Sadie on the Road to Recovery

Donation protected
This fundraiser is for two strong and incredible women, Mikaela (Fisher) Rindlisbacher and her sweet daughter Sadie Beth.

On Thursday February 8th Mikaela was, very suddenly, hospitalized with pre-eclampsia that turned to HELLP syndrome. Mikaela’s blood pressure was sky-high and she had a terrible headache. Ultimately, it was decided that it was time to deliver the baby before things escalated any further.

On Friday February 9th—9 Fridays too soon—Sadie Beth was born at 4 lbs 2 oz via emergency C-Section. She was immediately transferred from Madison to EIRMC’s NICU for extra care and support.

Unfortunately, Mikaela was not stable enough for transport from Rexburg to Idaho Falls, either before or after the c-section. So she had to stay at Madison and wasn't able to be with her baby for 4 days of her life.

All things considered, Sadie is doing well. She’s breathing well and, in some ways, ahead of what you might expect from a baby born at 31 weeks. She’s operating on a single kidney, something that the family knew about long before Mikaela was hospitalized, so it wasn’t a surprise and fortunately, it hasn’t yet been an issue.

Mikaela has taken longer to improve than expected, it was discovered after her C-Section that she has also been suffering from gall stones, and continues to struggle managing her blood pressure which remains elevated leading to a longer hospital stay than initially expected.

Both Mikaela and Sadie are fighters and have been able to stay strong despite incredible obstacles against them. Both are in for a long road to recovery. Mikaela will need to undergo another abdominal surgery to remove her gallbladder and Sadie will need to stay under constant care in the NICU until April followed by subsequent testing on her kidneys at Primary Children's Hospital in Utah.

This time has been trying physically and emotionally, your contributions and generosity can help soften the financial burden such a trial has left on their family as well. Please consider donating even a small amount to this beautiful little family to help them pay for the extensive hospital bills and travel they will accumulate to support both Mikaela and Sadie on this journey to health. They can use your prayers and donations as they keep fighting.
