Hi Everyone! I'm raising funds to assist with my medical for expenses in my unexpected battle with cancer as of September of 2025; expenses such as co-pays, travel, food, and other needs for the next year; I'll also be off work for up to a year so I will not be receiving full pay though I do have some benefits I'm applying for that will cover up to 2/3 of my pay.

A few brief examples of expenses: we're traveling to and from Portland about an hour for medical visits, about an hour away. $60 gets us through about 3 round trips and we'll be going there once a week in addition to other visits - we'll be going weekly for the next year. Another example is a $150 co-pay for to the emergency room last night when I went to have my bladder flushed because I could not pee due to blood clots.

We also paid for a rental car in Texas, overnight, for transportation to and from MD Anderson / the airport when going to meet with their doctors initially about my rhabdomyosarcoma cancer tumor. And of course meals for each time we're away from home. We are not in dire straits but every bit will help!

Just so you know, Gofundme does charge a 2.9% transaction fee +$.30 - if you donated $100, I would receive $100-$2.90 + $0.30 or $96.80, to cover the cost of their site and credit card fees. This is absolutely fair in my book. I researched other similar sites and all have a similar or higher fee. An alternative, if you wish, is Venmo or Cash App direct to us via Karen, Kristi, Jose, Kyle, myself, or Sam.
