My name is Miguel Davis, and I am from the parish of Westmoreland, Jamaica. On Tuesday, October 28, our island was devastated by Hurricane Melissa, a Category 5 storm with winds exceeding 200 km/h and torrential rain that destroyed homes, uprooted trees, and left thousands displaced. My community in western Jamaica is one of the hardest hit, and my family home was completely destroyed.
I am raising funds on behalf of my biological parents, who are both elderly and physically disabled, and my mentally ill sister, who depend on me for support. Our house, which once provided safety and stability, has been reduced to rubble. My parents are now left exposed to the elements, with no roof over their heads and very limited access to basic necessities.
As a recent university graduate and the sole provider for my family, I am currently unemployed and unable to meet the financial burden of rebuilding on my own. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward rebuilding our family home — covering the cost of construction materials, labor, and essential household items such as furniture, bedding, and kitchen supplies.
Your generosity will help restore a safe and stable home for my parents and sister, giving them the chance to live with dignity once again. Every contribution, big or small, brings us one step closer to rebuilding our lives.
Thank you sincerely for your kindness and support.
