Support Miguel’s Journey to Vaganova

Donation protected
Dear Sir or Madam,

My name is Sophia Villa, and I’m writing on behalf of my younger brother, Miguel Villa, a talented and deeply committed young ballet dancer. Miguel has already performed leading roles in professional productions across South Texas, and his remarkable talent has earned him an invitation to the prestigious 2025 Vaganova Summer Intensive in Massachusetts. This internationally renowned program, held in locations such as the U.S., Russia, and Spain, is known for training exceptionally gifted young dancers for professional careers in ballet.

We are a Mexican-American family, and while my father works as an engineer and has provided significantly, supporting extracurricular activities for a household of ten comes with significant financial constraints; especially as they approach the pre-professional level. I’m currently a graduate student at Harvard studying immunology, working toward becoming a physician-scientist (MD/PhD). I share this to convey that our family is one rooted in discipline, education, and ambition—but even with all our drive, the costs of Miguel’s tuition, travel, and housing for the program are beyond what we can manage alone.

As Miguel’s eldest sister, I’ve watched him grow into an extraordinary young man. He was the first boy born into our family, bringing energy, athleticism, and an unmatched work ethic. Though he excelled in every sport he tried, it was dance that truly captivated him. His journey began at age eight when he played Fritz in a local Nutcracker production. Since then, he has competed in Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP) Houston, earned multiple scholarships, mentored younger dancers, and starred in many community performances—all while thriving academically.

Miguel is not only an artist but also a standout student. A consistent Dean’s List honoree, he is simultaneously a high school junior and a full-time college student, currently taking 18 credit hours per semester in pursuit of a degree in mechanical engineering.

Despite his talent, Miguel—like many gifted young people—sometimes grapples with imposter syndrome. This letter is not only a request for financial support; it is a testament to his potential and a message of belief in him. Your support would help lift a financial barrier, but more than that, it would affirm to Miguel that his dreams are worth chasing—and that others believe in his future as much as we do.

Thank you for considering this investment in Miguel’s growth. Your generosity would mean everything to our family and could be life-changing for a young man whose passion and discipline set him apart.

With gratitude,
Sophia Villa
