Miguel Vargas has officially made his mark in the record books as Sunray’s first-ever Boys State Powerlifting Champion!

With an incredible 570lb deadlift on his final attempt and a 1525lb total PR.

This isn’t just a victory for Miguel—it’s a victory for our town, our school, and every young athlete who dares to dream big. He’s proof that with hard work, dedication, and the support of a strong community, anything is possible.

Now, Miguel has earned the chance to compete at nationals, representing Sunray on the biggest stage yet! The competition will take place April 10-13 at Sheraton Milwaukee Brookfield, Wisconsin.

But he can’t do it alone! Let’s come together and help him reach the next level. Every donation, big or small, brings him one step closer to making history once again.
