My name is Miguel My name is Miguel Estrella, and I am asking for help during one of the hardest moments of my life.

About a month ago, I injured my foot while working. Normally this wouldn’t have been a serious issue, but I am diabetic, and wounds do not heal the same for me. What started as a small injury quickly became infected. Soon after, my toes began turning dark, and I started experiencing numbness.

I went to the emergency room when I realized something was very wrong. The doctors told me I had two options: amputate my foot or seek treatment from a specialist immediately. As the sole provider for my family, losing my foot would make it extremely difficult for me to continue working in my field and supporting them.

Unfortunately, due to not having medical insurance, the hospital discharged me and advised me to find a specialist on my own. Since then, I have been trying to do everything I can, but the cost of seeing a specialist and receiving proper treatment is more than I can afford on my own.

I have worked my entire life to provide for my family, and asking for help does not come easily to me. But right now, I am facing the possibility of losing my foot, and I need help to have a chance at saving it.

The funds raised will go directly toward:

    •    Seeing a foot and wound-care specialist

    •    Tests, treatments, and medications needed to fight the infection

    •    Preventing amputation if at all possible
