Help Miguel and Sofia Rebuild After Fire

Please help our friends, Miguel and Sofia Vidal, who lost their home of 28 years in the Eaton Canyon Fire, where they raised their son, their chickens, a 100-pound tortoise, and a cat. With Miguel being a contractor, he poured TLC into his home and did many of the renovations himself. Most recently, he just finished working on their backyard as a gift to Sofia, who had been waiting years to get her "paradise." She never imagined it would burn down just months after completion.

Miguel and Sofia were lucky to get out alive from their burning house. Once they started seeing the flames approach, they went in the backyard to let out their chickens. But as Miguel went to do so, he saw that the neighbor's bushes were on fire and tried to help put out the flames, but in doing so, they lost their window to escape safely. Finally, Sofia dragged Miguel away from their burning home, and they drove 1 mile with no visibility as they dodged falling trees and powerlines. Sadly, they lost their chickens and their tortoise that they adored. This act of bravery and selflessness is at the core of Miguel and Sofia as Miguel always puts others first and wants to help. When he saw his community burning down, he tried to help as best he could, not thinking of the dangers he was in.

Right now, neither Miguel nor Sofia can work as all of Miguel's tools were burnt in the fire and Sofia does not have a car. Miguel and Sofia need money to get back on their feet. Funds will be used for living expenses for themselves and their son and also to replace Miguel's tools so he can work. Please give what you can to help.
