Dear friends, family, and kind strangers,We are writing this in a moment of absolute emergency for our newborn daughter. Our beautiful baby girl, Alyssia, was born critically early at just 31 weeks gestation. Due to severe maternal preeclampsia and high blood pressure, she suffered from severe fetal growth restriction in the womb. She was born weighing an incredibly fragile 720 grams—nearly a kilogram below what a standard baby at her gestation should weigh.Right now, Alyssia is in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at a government hospital in Tbilisi, Georgia, fighting a complex, hour-by-hour battle for survival. She is currently on a mechanical ventilator because her tiny lungs are stiff and cannot open on their own. She is also undergoing intense medical treatments to fight off a serious prenatal bloodstream infection and a severe blood-clotting disorder. While she is a true fighter and her heart is structurally strong, her medical reality is critical. The hospital has placed her in their highest critical risk bracket. Because we are not citizens here and are currently on a visa transit before relocating to the United Kingdom for my work contract, we have no state medical coverage in this country. Because Alyssia requires Level 3 critical care, specialized medications, and continuous mechanical ventilation, the hospital is billing us a staggering £2,200 per week (approximately 1,430 GEL per day). As a family caught in transit, being forced to find £2,200 every single week out of the blue is a mathematical impossibility. Doctors have stated Alyssia will need to remain confined to her incubator for at least the next 2.5 months until she is strong enough to breathe on her own and reaches a safe weight. As a family caught in transition between countries, our bank cards have maxed out, and meeting this astronomical cost over the next 10 weeks is a mathematical impossibility for us to cover alone. Every single pound raised will go directly into our linked Revolut UK account to clear the hospital invoices on our weekly billing days and cover unexpected emergency procedures or specialist fees. Our Promise: If Alyssia recovers faster than expected, or if her final medical bills come in under our target, we give our absolute word that every single extra pound raised will be donated directly to local neonatal charities to help other vulnerable premature babies fighting for their lives in the NICU. Your kindness will directly save Alyssia, and any surplus will pass that life-saving gift forward to another family in crisis. If you cannot donate, please share Alyssia's link with your networks, corporate workplaces, and communities. Thank you for helping us bring our tiny fighter home.
