My name is Leslie, and I’m reaching out for help for my beloved 9-year-old yorkie, Mickey. Just a few weeks ago, Mickey was a healthy, happy dog who always got his regular checkups. There was never any sign of a heart murmur or serious health issue. But on January 8, everything changed—Mickey suddenly couldn’t breathe and fainted, and I had to rush him to the emergency hospital. He spent two days and one night in an oxygen tank, fighting for his life. After being released with a lot of medication, I hoped he was on the mend, but less than a week later, Mickey went back into heart failure and had to be hospitalized again for two more days and one night.
Right now, Mickey is stable on his medication, but the prognosis is tough. The vets found a tear in his heart, and unless I can pursue a very expensive treatment, his life expectancy is short. I’m doing everything I can, but his medication and vet visits are extremely costly, and I wasn’t prepared for this. I’m not in the best financial situation to give Mickey the care he needs.
I would be so grateful for any help—whether it’s a donation or simply sharing this fundraiser with friends and family. Every bit of support means the world to me and will help give Mickey the best chance possible. Thank you so much for reading our story and for any kindness you can offer.
