My husband of 28 years recently celebrated his 50th birthday and saw our only daughter graduate high school! These were two goals he set in April 2023 to see when he was diagnosed with colon cancer that had already metastasized to his liver, so stage 4. Two years later, after 3 rounds of radiation, 3 rounds of chemo, 2 liver ablations, and a colon removal surgery that resulted in an ostomy, he is still battling cancer with more and more health issues and changes to how his body is responding to chemo. Mickey asked his oncologist about time and numbers, he likes that, and his doctor said 6 months to 18 months depending on chemo response. That was a couple of months ago, so we are making the most of what we can when we can.
We bought a Coleman travel trailer last summer and are camping as much as we can. He loves the woods, nature, and the peace of it all. He was previously only walking with a cane but has progressed to a rollator and is now developing edema in his lower legs and feet. His mobility is becoming a bigger obstacle, and with his fatigue and energy level, his mobility is using it up. We would like to purchase him a scooter so we can take walks around the campsite, at home, and hopefully see more sites as his health allows. We also have one vehicle and have been plagued by some repairs that, at the time of this message, are ongoing. For these reasons, I am turning to GoFundMe and the generosity of people. It is my hope to be able to pay for vehicle repairs, purchase a scooter, and then fit our vehicle and/or travel trailer with the proper towing equipment for a scooter so Mickey can see and do as much as we can for as long as the good Lord allows.
