Help Michi Walk Again

Throughout the many years that I've known my best friend Michi, she has always been a hard worker, and always willing to do anything to help anyone.
Michi has had her ups and downs, but this past year has been especially difficult for her. She was forced to quit her jobs and relocate to Tampa, FL, to take care of her beautiful mom, who had been diagnosed with a vigorous type of cancer. Michi lived in the hospital, never leaving her mother’s side, until that final day came in April when she and her family had to say their last goodbyes to the woman that gave so much life and joy to their family.
Michi is the strongest person I have ever met. When she came back home, she was ready to get back to work immediately and live the life she knew her mom wanted her to have. Unfortunately, she had an accident and landed wrong on her foot, resulting in 7 fractures and the tearing of a ligament. The injury she suffered from is known as “Lisfranc Fracture”, resulting in her having to get 4 screws surgically placed into the top of her foot and having the ruptured ligament reattached. She has already gone through one surgery and will need a second to remove the screws, and pain medication to finish out the healing and recovery process.
Sadly Michi doesn’t qualify for health coverage due to not having an income for several months of the last year. Also, having been unable to work due to her spending time watching over her mother, she has nothing saved to help her, either. Michi and her family are trying to get back on their feet financially after everything that has happened, but the procedure and the medication required for her recovery exceed what the family can do to help. We need to raise $10,000 to cover the cost of the procedures and medication.
Michi is the most selfless and compassionate person I have ever known. She will do whatever it takes to make sure the people she cares about are taken care of, even if it means using her last dollar to feed someone or driving on empty to make sure they're not late. She’s given so much to everyone in her life, and still continues to be the same goofy, but thoughtful person we know and love. She's being a trooper through this process, remaining strong, faithful, and positive in the face of this injury that threatens to take away her mobility, and her way of life so shortly after the passing of her mother. But her strength, unfortunately, will not pay these ridiculous medical bills.
Please help my best friend get back on her feet, literally. Any amount will help assist Michi in getting the proper treatment so she can continue to shine and grace us with her exuberant personality on her own two feet again. After everything she's put forward to help others, it's time to give back to her.
