Help Michelle's Family Through This Tragedy
Donation protected
A week ago my sister in laws family’s life turned upside down. A worry and fear that every mother goes through while pregnant. A tragedy that is unbearable, never easy to explain, and grief that is hard to heal. Unfortunately, she has endured this pain and then some.
I've talked with Michelle and Matthew to make sure this is ok and used their contact info.
Michelle went to her normal OBGYN check up on March 18 with her husband and daughter to see how baby Matthew Jr was doing. While getting the ultrasound done, the room was silent, her excitement turned to fear, and she was told the worse news for any mother to endure. Baby Matthew no longer had a heart beat. But sadly this was just beginning of the worst week for this poor family.
After going to the hospital they were told the best option was to induce labor. After receiving 24 hours of induction medication within a 12 hour timeframe it was clear that delivering naturally was no longer going to be an option. Thankfully, with the doctors concerns of Michelle’s Placenta Previa, history of hemorrhaging, and the lack of blood on hand (please consider donating blood) that the best option to keep Michelle alive and safe was to air lift her to a hospital that was more equipped to do this surgery.
After arriving to the new hospital, surgery went south as expected. Michelle lost a lot of blood, received many liters and still was not looking up for her. She was transferred to ICU until she was stable enough for the surgeons to go in again to find the bleeding. After the second surgery and a day of more drips it was looking better.
After a long week in the hospital for a mother trying to fight her life, Michelle is finally home but it has come with more challenges than ever expected. From the stay in the hospital, being transferred by the helicopter, and having to take 6-8 weeks off from work to heal and recover has brought a huge financial burden for the family. Her husband and daughter are both missing a lot of time at work, to be by her side until she is out of the woods. I ask from the bottom of my heart if you could please donate to help lift this stress from her plate so she can heal and grieve with her family.
