Hi, I'm Michelle. I also go by Shelly. I am lucky enough to have insurance that will cover my bottom surgery. However, I do not have enough PTO from my part-time librarian job to cover my 8-week recovery period. I'm asking for help in raising money to cover my family's expenses while I'm out of work, about 6 weeks' worth of unpaid time off. I will be spending most of the time in bed rest, and all of it, unable to lift more than 5lbs, and forbidden from returning to work. Hopefully, if everything goes well with the surgery and recovery, 8 weeks will be all that I need.

My husband and kids rely entirely on my income to pay our mortgage, buy food, and pay bills. We lost Medicaid last year and don't qualify for food assistance. My husband is disabled and can't work, or even drive much, but was denied disability as well, so we might need a little extra to cover things like food delivery to our remote farmhouse.
