Last year, Michelle bottle-raised four newborn kittens—Nova, Possum, Spicy, and Clover—after their feral mother was tragically struck by a car. The bond she formed with these extremely bonded kittens was so strong that she couldn’t let any of them go, and they’ve become a close-knit family. Michelle is not only a devoted pet and human mom, but also a talented photographer who captures the unique personalities of her kittens in every photo.
Recently, Michelle’s world was turned upside down when Spicy, one of her cats, had to visit an emergency vet for an unrelated issue. Unfortunately, Spicy brought home Feline panleukopenia (FPV), a highly contagious and dangerous virus. Clover, who has had a particularly rough week, required multiple overnight vet visits—one of which was distressing due to inadequate care. Now, both Clover and Possum are fighting to get better and back home at a 24-hour veterinary hospital that finally has a proper treatment plan. Michelle is doing everything she can to keep Nova and Clover healthy, but the situation is both scary and serious, with hope that no other cats will show signs of illness.
The cost of care for Clover and Possum is staggering, not including the multiple emergency visits for Clover and Spicy’s earlier treatment for ingesting something toxic. This sudden financial burden is overwhelming for Michelle, who is always the first to help others but would never ask for help herself. She’s a kind and generous friend who deserves some relief. Any support you can offer will help Michelle give her beloved cats the best chance at recovery. Please consider donating, and take a look at her feed to see the sweet faces you’ll be helping.
