Hi everyone,
For those of you who don't know me, my name is Krysta, a dear friend of Senaida and Michelle's. It's hard to find the words or to know where to start for the journey that lies ahead for Michelle and Senaida. For anyone that knows these two personally, you know that they are two of the kindest, strongest, most radiant souls, that would do absolutely anything to help someone during dark days. So that is why I am here, asking that we do the same for them. There are so many people that love & adore these two asking what they can do to help. I created this GoFundMe in hopes that it can help raise funds for their upcoming medical expenses, medications, travel to and from doctors appointments, bills, & anything else they may need during this time. The road ahead is so overwhelming for them at the moment, I'd love for those that can, to try and help ease the financial burden of this diagnosis, so they can focus on Michelle's upcoming surgery and healing. If you're unable to donate, there are still other ways you can help! I ask that you please share this with your friends and family to help spread it further!
From the bottom of my heart and theirs, THANK YOU! Every dollar donated and every share is truly, deeply appreciated!
Below is Michelle's diagnosis and the current plan set in place.
In November of 2023 Michelle found a large lump in her right breast, which was already measuring 10cm (4inches) at that time. UCLA couldn't get her in to be seen until March 20th, 2024, which was not going to be acceptable. She was able to get in with Kaiser and on January 17th went in for a diagnostic mammogram. On January 18th at 7:30 am she was back in for more biopsies. On January 25th they received the call that it is Breast Cancer Stage 2 to 3 invasive and in situ Ductal Carcinoma with Metastatic Ductal Carcinoma in her Lymph Nodes close by. The doctor's plan for her at this point is a double mastectomy on February 26th with chemotherapy +/- radiation. She has a few more full body scans to see if it spread any further to her lymph nodes near her right breast. Depending on the body scan results she may need to do chemo before or after surgery. Her doctor is being proactive and setting a tentative surgery assuming it hasn't spread more, HUGE fingers crossed for this!
