Michelle is my neighbor, and I met her when she reached out to my workplace for help. She and her husband have been going through an incredibly challenging time after frozen pipes flooded their home. Their insurance company has been very slow to pay for the necessary repairs, and over the past year, they have depleted all of their assets trying to keep up.

Michelle is totally disabled and wheelchair bound due to multiple sclerosis (MS). The stress of their situation has caused her to have two relapses this year, making things even more difficult. Her husband is paid hourly, and he has had to miss work to care for Michelle during this long and exhausting repair process. As a result, they have fallen behind on their mortgage and car payments, putting their home and Michelle’s handicap accessible vehicle at risk.

I am hoping that our neighborhood and the Lebanon community will come together to share the love and help this family keep their home and the vehicle that is so essential for Michelle’s independence.
