For the last few years, my Aunt Michelle has been having frequent migraines, and intense pain that has sent her to the ER multiple times. After many visits to the hospital and to specialists, we finally know what is causing this. Unfortunately, the only way to relieve this pain, and to stop her vision and hearing from going, is to have a Ventriculoperitoneal (VP) Shunt placed, this shunt will help drain the excess cerebrospinal fluid in her brain. She is currently waiting on her FMLA so that she can get this surgery that she needs.

Michelle is a Registered Nurse who has been working through the Covid-19 pandemic, and does everything she can to help those around her. She has given so much of herself to her community this past year, and we hope that those around her will pay her compassion forward.
