I am starting this fundraiser for my family. My name is Michelle, and our household includes me, my fiancé, our 10-year-old child, and our baby on the way. On August 13th, a tree fell on our power line, and what started as a terrifying accident quickly turned into a situation we cannot fix on our own. Our electric company told us the damage was our responsibility. We were able to get the trees taken care of off the line, but the tree had already yanked the line out of our meter box. The lines run through a pole through our roof down to the meter box, and the impact bent the pole and ripped the wires right out of the meter box.

Now we urgently need an electrician to make the repairs and help us get our power restored, but we simply cannot afford that cost right now. I am currently 30 weeks pregnant, and with a new baby arriving soon, this has been incredibly stressful for all of us. My fiancé is the only one working, and despite how hard he works, we do not have enough to cover this unexpected repair. Having reliable electricity is so important for our family’s safety, comfort, and peace of mind, especially with our 10-year-old and a baby on the way.
