Help Michelle recover from robbery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Grace, and my friend Michelle needs our help!
Early summer of 2022, Michelle took her skincare business on the road and purchased a camper van to live in full-time while promoting her business. She significantly downsized her life and belongings to fit into the van she would take all over the country - to networking events, markets where she could run vendor booths, and more.
While housesitting the night of Friday, November 4th, in West Seattle, Michelle's van was parked on the street, broken into, and stolen. While the van shell was recovered, everything else was stripped and taken. Insurance does not cover the loss of these items, and many are expensive or impossible to replace.
There will be many obvious vehicle-related costs, but this van was also Michelle's full-time home; it housed her supplies for running her event vendor booth and valuable and sentimental personal belongings. What Michelle needs most right now is a way to replace these supplies so she can continue earning money through her business. She will also need to replace necessities like clothing, bedding, and toiletries.
The loss also includes items essential to the van's habitability, such as the roof solar panel, battery, and all connected inverters and wiring. These items likely cost around ~$4k to replace, not to mention the knowledgeable labor required to install and repair.
Additional costs to pay due to the recovery of the vehicle include tow & impound fees and repairs to the broken passenger window and ignition. More repairs may be needed to the van build that may not have been discovered and accounted for yet.
There are a lot of additional losses of personal or recreational items not covered in this fundraiser goal, but we can help her with some of the things she needs to continue working in the meantime. Any donation of any amount helps. Let's get Michelle back on her feet!
