Help Michelle Rebuild After a Devastating Flood

Hi Everyone,

Hi, my name is Daniel and I’m fundraising for my little sister, Michelle—a strong, caring, and resilient woman—whose life was turned upside down by the freak storm that hit the Southeast on Friday night.

Michelle’s basement flat was completely flooded during the storm. Within hours, the rising water destroyed everything: her furniture, clothes, electronics, important documents, work equipment, and, most painfully, her irreplaceable personal belongings. The situation became so dangerous that the fire brigade had to rescue and evacuate her in the early hours of the morning. She’s now staying at my house, trying to process the devastation of losing her home and her safe space—all in one night.

To make matters worse, Michelle’s flat was not fully insured. Due to unresolved issues with the property management company, her contents were not covered—only the building itself. That means she’s now facing the reality of starting over from scratch with no financial safety net.

Michelle works full-time while also caring for our elderly parents. She’s someone who has always shown up for others—whether as a sister, daughter, friend, or neighbour. Now, she needs our help.

We’re hoping to raise £7,500 to support Michelle as she begins to rebuild. Every donation—no matter how small—will go directly towards:

• Temporary accommodation and daily living expenses

• Replacing essential items like clothing, kitchenware, and toiletries
