Help Michelle Knight stroke recovery

Donation protected
My 40 year old cousin Michelle Knight (mother to 6 beautiful kids – 18, 16, 13, 12, 3 and a newborn) suffered an intraventricular hemorrhagic stroke 9 days after giving birth to her baby girl Emma who was born on November 17th, 2018.
Emma

She had just become engaged to her loving boyfriend Corey and they were looking forward to an exciting future together.

Upon arrival at the hospital, she was given 24 hours to live. The neurosurgeon told the family she would have a 1% chance of survival. Given the possible negative outcome (if she survived) he was very hesitant to perform surgery. Michelle's dad begged him to do whatever he could do to try to save her life. The neurosurgeon considered her newborn and described the surgery as a "Hail Mary".   After the surgery it was a waiting game that offered little to no hope as doctor after doctor continued to prepare the family for the inevitable.  A huge set back occurred when Michelle suffered a heart attack caused by the brain injury.  An even worse setback occurred when blood vessels in Michelle’s brain constricted creating a risk of another stroke and a reversal of progress in previously observed movements.   In her already weakened condition, Michelle endured a brain angioplasty surgery which successfully opened the constricted blood vessels. All we could do was keep praying, and pray we did. As time went by, Michelle would take one step forward and three steps back, but anything was better than nothing.
As more time went by there were small glimmers of hope in Michelle's responsiveness. A miracle was happening right before our eyes! By the grace of God, she keeps fighting and fighting. We are so incredibly proud of the strength and determination she is showing to get better. She does not want her children to be motherless! She continues to fight against all the odds. It is a daily battle, she gets weary but never gives up. Currently, she has little to no function of her right side (thank God she’s left handed), and is having problems with communication and memory. She thinks of the right words but says something different. Obviously we are still uncertain of what the future holds, but we are optimistic that she will fully regain all her functions. She has fought back thus far, and on January 18th was released from the rehab facility! Michelle will need home health care and continued therapy. Her current home needs to be fitted for her needs. She will need to find a new home as soon as possible that will be more suitable for her condition.  We’re setting up this page because Michelle’s family desperately needs assistance with rent, utilities and daily living expenses.  There will be lots of hospital bills coming.  We will be assisting her in applying for Social Security disability but that takes between 3 and 6 months. We would like to lighten her load a bit (at least financially) during this trying time. If you could please find it in your heart to donate, the help would be appreciated tremendously! Even the smallest donation will make a difference!! Any and all shares of this page would also be greatly appreciated.
Thank you and God bless!!

Please lend a helping hand to assist in Michelle's road to recovery....
