Michelle Lindsay, my fiancé, was diagnosed with spinal stenosis, which is a narrowing of the spine, on January 20, 2026. Just a month before, she was also diagnosed with arthritis in her back. These conditions have made life incredibly difficult for her. She has lost bladder control and is on medication for that, as well as medication for pain. Right now, she uses a cane to walk, but her doctor has put in a referral for a walker to help her move around more safely. There are also referrals out for Michelle to see spinal and hernia surgeons, as her condition requires specialized care. Michelle is only 56, and her mother suffered from the same condition before she passed away. Watching Michelle go through this is heartbreaking, and I want to do everything I can to help her.
My social security income goes entirely toward our rent, leaving us unable to afford Michelle’s walker, her medications, or even gas money for rides to her appointments since we don’t have a car. I am doing all I can for her, but it’s not enough, and Michelle is scared. I love her very much, and it’s so hard to see her in pain every day.
We are reaching out for help from our community. Any support you can give will go directly toward Michelle’s medical needs and transportation to her appointments. Your kindness would mean the world to us and help Michelle get the care she needs to improve her quality of life. Thank you for reading our story and for any help you can offer.
