Help Michelle find her light through a kidney transplant!

I hope this finds you in good health and spirits! I am writing to you with a heavy heart and a humble request for assistance. My name is Nikita Vinu, and I am reaching out to you in a time of great need.

My dear sister, Michelle Roy, who lives in Kerala, India, is only 29 years old and have been fighting for her life for past 27 years. She was diagnosed with a life-threatening rare kidney disease called FSGS (Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis) when she was just 2 years old, and her condition has much worsened over time. By 2022, she was diagnosed with end-stage renal disease. Despite best efforts to manage her condition, her kidneys have significantly deteriorated and is now dependent on regular dialysis.

After careful consideration, her medical team has informed our family that the only viable option for my beloved little sister’s survival and well-being is a kidney transplant, since her body has now become resistant to the dialysis process due to the complexity of the condition. Currently, she is confined mostly to our house and the hospital, unable to lead a normal life. Before her condition worsened, Michelle used to draw and write songs, and her creativity helped her navigate the tough times. She kept convincing us that someday she would see a light in this dark tunnel. Over the time, all of this started decreasing given the physical and mental toll of her condition. A transplant will offer her the chance to live and regain the energy to pursue her dreams!

While I am deeply hopeful about this possibility of better future with a transplant, the costs associated with the surgery, hospital stay, post-operative care, and long-term medications are beyond our financial capabilities. We have already done everything within our power to support her medical treatments and have even sold our family home exhausting all available financial resources to help her survive over the years. The financial burden is overwhelming, as the estimated medical expenses associated with the kidney transplant is beyond our current financial capabilities and we find ourselves in an extremely difficult position. This is why I have created this post for my Michelle, with a goal based on the minimum expected costs we associated with the transplant and after care.

In light of this, I humbly seek your support through any available financial aid or donations that may help make this life-saving surgery a reality. I truly believe that a kidney transplant is the only hope to save my only sister. However, without financial assistance, I fear I will be in deep trouble to proceed with this crucial treatment.

Any contribution, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to bringing her back to normal life. Your support would not only provide her with the opportunity to undergo the transplant but would also give her a chance to continue living a healthy and fulfilling life.
