Everyone who knows Michelle, knows that she would be the first person to give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She needs your help now. Last week Michelle was diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC). It is a type of breast cancer that is not detectable by mammogram and it may have gone undetected for years had she not found a lump. She has since had several scans including an MRI, CAT scan, and bone scan. Additional spots are showing in her lungs and possibly on her spine. She will require several more scans and tests before her team of doctors can decide on treatment. Right now she is looking at surgery, chemo, radiation, and hormone therapy. Her medical insurance will cover a lot of the treatment, but they are only one week into the diagnosis and there are many bills that are not being covered.
To add to everything that is going on, Bernard was involved in a car accident with a red light runner this past week. This accident totaled one of their cars leaving them with only one car for Bernard to get to work and Michelle to get to doctor appointments. Their insurance will not pay out until the investigation is complete which could take weeks.
The entire family is pitching in to help and get Michelle and her family everything they need, but we cannot do it alone. Anything you can give at this time would help even if it is just words of encouragement. I know that Michelle, Bernard, and Sydney appreciate everything that has been done for them already. Please help so that Michelle can put all of her energy into beating this cancer.
