Before COVID, my son and I survived a violent home invasion. During the assault, most of my teeth were broken. The dental care I received afterward was meant to be temporary. Focused on emergency stabilization, not long-term restoration. 

I am a single mother and the full time caregiver to my autistic son, Mason. 

Over the past 2 years, the temporary dental work has begun to fail. 

I sought out help and exhausted 2 years of my dental insurance, paid over $5000.00 out of pocket and took out a loan to cover the first phase of a comprehensive restoration plan. 

The first phase included oral surgery, placement of 3 titanium screws, two extractions, bone grafting, and composite material added to my remaining temporary work to keep them stable during post-op healing.

The recovery time is typically 6-9 months. 

Which brings us to today.

I did everything that I could, but I cannot afford the final phase of treatment that my prosthodontics offices and the restorative dentist require. 

After extensive research I found an excellent dentist, Dr. Joaquin Berrón in Mexico. He can complete my dental work for a fraction of the cost. 

My airfare and hotel are already covered. What I personally cannot afford is the $7,986.00 needed to complete the dental work from Dr. Berrón.

I am at a critical point. My mouth is failing. Eating, speaking and now swallowing have become very difficult and painful. I am almost to the finish line and have exhausted every personal resource available to me.

Speaking my truth, telling Mason and i’s story and asking for help is incredibly hard for me. 

I thrive when I am caring for others and contributing to my community. 

The ripple effect of my declining viral health is severe. 

And, it directly impacts Mason. He is 20 years old now, and deserves a healthy mom, and exceptional care. 

Sharing our story, reposting it, talking to a neighbor, or placing a flyer on a bulletin board are huge acts of support.
