Last night at 1030pm, a drain at the corner of Atwater and Lionel Groulx broke and caused catastrophic floods of the entire area.

Firemen and the police arrived on the scene but there was little anyone could do: six feet of ice water buried our home.

My husband took what he could and escaped before the deluge hit, but we have lost almost everything. The wave of ice water consumed the place and caused the pipes to burst, shattering the toilet, destroying all our personal items, and causing irreparable damage to the floors and walls.

We are currently talking to the insurance and the condo association, but we were told that insurance won't cover all of it and the condo won't be livable again for months.
