Urgent Help Needed for Michelle and Her Girls.

Hi, my name is Michelle. I'm a single mom to beautiful 13-year-old twin girls. For the past several months, our lives have been turned upside down by a series of health emergencies, housing instability, and a painful loss of income.

I have been in the hospital since April 2nd—receiving critical treatment for FND and trying to stabilize my health.

I will remain here until May 10th, in supportive care housing. After that, I have nowhere lined up to go yet and need daily physical, occupational, and cognitive therapies for the foreseeable future.

In November, I was hospitalized with a severe kidney infection that turned septic. It nearly cost me my life. Since then, I’ve faced ongoing health issues, including functional neurological disorder, which affects my motor skills, vision, and cognitive function. Despite this, I’ve continued advocating for myself and my children—but we need help.

I lost my job after reporting client neglect and unethical behavior at the agency I worked for. Instead of support, I was met with retaliation and termination. This not only cost me my income, but also my practicum placement for grad school—putting my Master’s degree and future as a clinical social worker at risk.

Since then, I’ve been fighting to stay afloat—while navigating hospitals, court hearings, moving out of our home, and trying to secure permanent housing and medical care. I’m currently in transitional supportive housing until May 10th, and I'm trying to secure a stable, safe home for my girls and me—something that feels like an uphill battle.
