We all know Michele as the fun-loving woman who loves to make people laugh. She puts a smile on everyone’s face the moment she enters a room. Sadly, back in April, Michele began having abdominal pain that lasted a few weeks. The pain became too severe to put off any longer. When getting an abdominal CT scan done, they incidentally found a lemon sized mass along her spine. This mass was later labeled as Follicular Lymphoma- a type of cancer that develops when white blood cells cluster together to form lumps in your lymph glands or organs. Since then Michele has undergone 3 separate treatments- this consists of her going once a month for two days. These treatments can last up to 8 hours and often leaves her feeling very rundown and very sick for the days that follow. Because Michele is such a fighter, she continues to work throughout treatment, but unfortunately has to take it easy due to feeling weak in the days that follow. We know that she will have to do at least 3 more treatments, but this is dependent on another PET scan she recently had to see if treatments are working. While this is not an ideal situation by any means, we want to show Michele that we are all standing beside her in this fight. Medical costs are already far exceeding the allotted amount that insurance covers with more bills coming in daily. Michele would never be one to ask for help, so we as her friends are taking the step to ask for any support you can give. Even if you can't donate something, sending a card, suggestions of ways to keep busy during treatments or even a phone call would mean the world to her. Your support will help to cover future costs of medicine, treatments and further scans that may need to be performed.
