Help Michaela Present at 2022 APSA Meeting

I’m excited to share that I received an invitation to present my senior thesis work at the 2022 American Political Science Association Annual Meeting in Montréal, Canada. This will be my first time presenting at a conference outside of the U.S. I do not have access to funding resources from Pomona College since I graduated in 2021, and I’m not enrolled in graduate school which makes me ineligible for APSA travel grants.

As a first generation low-income recent college graduate, I would appreciate your donations. Your contributions will help me cover registration fees, travel, lodging and meals for the 2022 Annual APSA Meeting.

Michaela Denise Shelton (she/her) holds a BA in Politics from Pomona College where she graduated with distinction and developed a sub-field specialization in Comparative Race. She produced an award-winning thesis on hair discrimination in the United States and South Africa and was recognzied by Pomona College’s Politics Department and The Association for the Study of Black Women in Politics for her contributions to Comparative Politics and Race and Ethnic Politics.
