Hey y’all! My name is Michaela Odom. I am the current director of a daycare here in Elba that will be closing its doors on October 3rd.

This closure leaves many families in the Elba and surrounding communities without reliable childcare. An increasingly talked about issue that Elba faces already.

My goal is to alleviate some of that burden by opening a new daycare, but I can’t do it alone.

I am asking anyone who feels called to help and has the ability, to please donate to this cause. Any and all proceeds will go to the rent of the building, any renovations that need to be made, furnishings, and any unforeseen problems that may arise during the process of this start up.

I understand not everyone has the financial ability to help, but if everyone who sees this could share it, I would be so grateful!

I know many people have reached out to me asking how they can help, and right now I don’t have all the answers. But one thing I know is that we have an amazing community that has shown so much support. Spreading the word, sharing knowledge, and financial assistance is one of the first places to start.

I have been working with some wonderful people to find a building in a convenient location. Once that building is found, I will need help with rent until we get up and running efficiently. With your help and generosity, we will then begin the inner workings, such as furnishings and licensing.

This has been one of the most heartbreaking and difficult situations I’ve had to face in my career. But I don’t feel like my work is yet done. I will explore every avenue and turn every stone to achieve my goal.
