Help Michaela get gender-affirming surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Michaela. I’m a transgender woman, and I’m fundraising for gender-affirming surgery.
This is deeply difficult for me to talk about. I feel embarrassed and exposed just writing it, but it’s something that causes me a great deal of discomfort every single day.
I want to have my Adam’s apple removed.
It might seem like a small thing. I’ve been told it’s barely noticeable. But I notice it. Constantly. In every photo, every video, every time I catch my reflection. It makes me feel disconnected from myself. It’s a persistent source of dysphoria and distress.
There's a surgery that's available called a tracheal shave which would resolve the problem for me. It costs £7,000 from Elanic clinic in Glasgow.
I really want this, but my personal circumstances make it a financial challenge just now. I'm self-employed and this makes my income unpredictable, especially now.
For me, this is not cosmetic - this is medical.
If anyone can please help with this, either by donation or sharing this appeal, I'd be really grateful ❤️
