Let's show Michael support post 19 yrs in prison!

Hi, my name is Christy, and I'm raising money for my brother, Michael, who has been incarcerated in Mississippi for the past 19 years. At 18 years old, he started experimenting with illicit drugs. While on drugs, he & another teenager robbed two gas stations during the summer after their high school graduation. As a result of this life-changing mistake, he was sentenced to 20 years in prison. While incarcerated, Michael became a Christian and earned a degree in Seminary. He preaches to fellow inmates thru the chaplain's department and has helped transform the lives of many of the inmates as well as their families. He has learned to completely depend on God for his strength, support, and guidance. He has been a model inmate, consistently working full time for the front administration at his facility.
On 7/1/21 armed robbery was added to the list of parole eligible offenses, thanks to the prison reform bill SB2795 signed by Governor Reeves this past April. On Friday, 7/9/21, the MS Dept of Corrections' parole board approved Michael for parole. We are waiting for a release date but are certain he will be released by the end of July or first week of August. Michael is going to need support from family, friends and the community as he embarks on this new chapter. He has an opportunity for a fresh start at life, this time as a 37 year old adult. Upon release, Michael dreams of hiking a portion of the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) from the Redwoods of Northern California to Crater Lake in central Oregon. He believes that every step he takes on the PCT will symbolize one step further away from his past. After the hike, Michael would love to learn how to renovate homes so he can bring new life to old structures.
