Help Michael Remain at Home During His Final Months
Michael has been part of our apartment community since 2009 — a familiar presence known for his deep voice and the way he always stops to talk with neighbors.
He lived here with his wife, Kim. Together they built a quiet life and raised two young grandchildren in this home. Their bond was unmistakable. Kim once told him, “If you throw a pebble in the ocean and you can find it, that’s when I stop loving you.” In 2020 Kim was diagnosed with cancer and in October 2022 she died.
After struggling with his grief and the challenges of living alone, in summer of 2024 Michael was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. Medical care and reduced income have made it difficult for him to keep up while simply trying to cope.
For Michael, this home is stability and memory — the place still connected to the life he shared with Kim. This fundraiser will help him remain here while receiving care, without fear of displacement.
Any help offered preserves dignity and peace during his final chapter. Thank you for reading his story.
