My name is Michael Lind, and I am a sophomore pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Game Design and Production at Drexel University’s Westphal College of Media Arts & Design. I am deeply committed to the Westphal community, where I currently serve as a front desk assistant in the Dean’s office through the Federal Work-Study program. To ensure a sustainable and efficient path toward my degree, I have recently transitioned from a 5-year track to a condensed 4-year/1 co-op track, allowing me to maintain my original graduation date while reducing the total number of academic terms requiring funding.
I am reaching out to my community today because an outstanding balance of $7,006.18 from the Fall term has triggered a financial hold on my account, preventing me from registering for my Spring 2026 classes. This has created a difficult "Catch-22" situation: while I have already been awarded $12,772.00 in gift aid for the Spring term—including the Drexel Promise scholarship and Pell Grant—university policy prevents this aid from being applied until the prior Fall balance is cleared. Essentially, resolving this Fall debt is the only key to "unlocking" my existing financial aid and allowing me to continue my education.
The funds raised through this campaign will serve as the critical bridge to get me back into the classroom. I am incredibly grateful that the Westphal College has already stepped up to support my efforts by committing $2,000.00 toward this balance. This means that every dollar donated here directly chips away at the remaining $5,006.18 gap. By helping me clear this hold, you are ensuring that I can stay on my 4-year graduation path, keep my professional role at the Dean’s office, and focus entirely on the technical projects and game development that I am so passionate about. Thank you for being a part of my journey and for helping me stay on track to become a professional game developer.
