Help Michael Save His Sight
Donation protected
Hi friends, I'm Michael. I'm 29 and am fundraising to pay for a surgery to save my vision in my left eye.
In early May, I was diagnosed with keratoconus (a weakening and deforming of the cornea) in both of my eyes. I was informed that my right eye's vision was too far gone, and the only chance for restoring functional vision would be through a corneal transplant. Fortunately, my left eye was still in the earlier stages, and if we act quickly, we could save my vision in my left eye through a procedure called corneal cross-linking. This condition cannot be fixed with glasses and needs this surgery to stop progressing. My doctor recommends that we don't wait more than a month to do this procedure.
Unfortunately, I was laid off right before I got this diagnosis and therefore don't have the means to pay for the procedure. The procedure will cost me roughly $5,800. I will also need to purchase specialized contacts and pay off my debts from my diagnostic visits. Anything raised beyond that will go toward paying off other medical debts and related expenses while I am recovering.
Please help however you can so that I can save my vision. Thank you so much in advance for helping me.
