Help Michael McCormick Save His Home and Gallery

Donation protected
Hi all!

Michael has asked me to create this fundraiser.

He continues to hang on by a thread in every respect. His two adult sons are in the process of selling the family home (in Arroyo Seco, next to Taos) in conjunction with the foreclosure proceedings.

His commercial eviction, meanwhile, still looms large, although it remains unclear when that will be executed.

Once he loses the house, the gallery, or -- worse yet -- both, he will be in very rough shape. So too will his wife, Yumiko, and his fat orange cat, Meownet.

From what he has relayed to me, it sounds like he only needs $40,000 to stave off the foreclosure.

This presents a remarkable opportunity to potentially buy out much of Michael's art collection, perhaps including his private collection at his home.

Or, alternatively, you could donate to this fundraiser!

Best,
Al Stengart
Manager Emeritus of the Michael McCormick Gallery, Taos

From Michael:

I am Michael McCormick from Taos. I've tried many times over the years to raise money for various reasons and fundraising raising. It was not always exactly successful, but it sure helped in relieving a substantial amount of pressure and offered many opportunities for artists, individuals, and the community. But unfortunately, we find ourselves right back where we started!
After living here for decades and raising thousands and millions for exceptionally needy children and various children's educational programs (Including the non-profit program child rite), Im in a real time situation where i can lose my home, I am being currently evicted from my business, and I have no car for transportation. I dearly need and appreciate all the help that will be given and also that has been given all along this way.

I humbly am asking the community's assistance regarding our recent business eviction notices and now am dealing with the recent closure and moving expenses. In the recent years, due to various struggles including COVID and ongoing construction here in our beautiful but small, recently lonely town of Taos, New Mexico, to keep the doors open to the gallery, I have tried to reach out to the community through online resources. Even though with all my efforts, I find myself without as mentioned, possibly losing my home, no car, and now soon without a business i will no longer have income to support my family, employees, artists and myself.

Working and Representing all the various artists through all these years in Taos it has been more such a learning and beautiful experience it has been.
By allureing to the community i want to continue to work with my local artists

I am asking with all appreciation and gratefulness that you donate to help me in this cause.
