Hi! I'm Stephanie Davis, asking for some financial help for a colleague/dear friend, Michael Moore. (Please note that he is not the documentarian of the same name!) I've been on the faculty at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for 3 years now. I've met some terrific people here, and Michael is one of the most loving, people-focused individuals that I've had the pleasure of working with. He's been dealing with some family issues lately. I don't want to go into too much detail, but money is tight. (You don't go into academia for the money!)

In the midst of all of this, his heating system went out a few weeks ago. He's been working to get it fixed. Repairing a heating system is expensive on its own, but his issue can't be solved with a repair. He needs a new system. The estimated cost is $15k to $20k. Although Michael would be fine waiting out the winter with some space heaters, he has 6 young kids. As of right now, he's making do by using space heaters to warm up the rooms in his house.

I have two asks for you.

1) Consider where you are financially. If you feel comfortable, would you be willing to contribute financially to help Michael with this expense?

2) The goal is quite large, and I know not everyone will be able to give. However, if you feel comfortable, would you be willing to pass this along to those you know?
