My name is Michael E. Caruso, a U.S. Navy veteran and father to my eight-year-old autistic son, Renn. In December 2024, I was arrested in Douglas County after filing civil lawsuits against a county clerk, magistrate, and judge—a constitutional right I used to raise due process concerns. Before this, I had no criminal history, no arrests, and not even a parking ticket. As a result of these events, I lost my parental rights, access to my home, and my gun rights. I now suffer from unspecified trauma and PTSD, and I was financially ruined trying to remain in my autistic son's life. Despite my circumstances, I spent over a month in jail before my bond was reduced. At the same time, I saw others accused of serious crimes released on much lower bonds, which raised serious concerns for me about fairness and proportionality. During my incarceration, I suffered severe financial harm and later discovered circumstances I believe involved fraud affecting my financial interests. I am pursuing these matters through lawful legal action while trying to rebuild stability for myself and my son Renn. Despite providing a preponderance of evidence, the Denver police department refused to provide any help in the financial fraud, and state representatives refused to take any action against family court. I am pursuing these matters through lawful legal action while rebuilding stability for my son and continuing work on AI tools at lawsuitfactory.org to help pro se litigants access the courts. Funds will help with legal costs, housing stability, and supporting my son. Any support you can offer will make a real difference for me and my son as we work to recover and move forward. Thank you for standing with us during this difficult time.
