Help Michael Recover After Spine Surgery

Dearest friends and family, and kind-hearted strangers,

As many of you know, Michael had double spine surgery this summer and is facing a challenging recovery journey ahead. His autoimmune disease, which causes spondyloarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis, had deteriorated his discs and entrapped the nerves in his lower back, resulting in debilitating flare-ups in his leg, hip, and back that lasted weeks at a time. The prolonged severity of the chronic pain and neuropathy nearly cost him the functionality of his right leg.

These disk replacement and spinal fusion procedures were essential to save his mobility and restore his quality of life, and to alleviate the pains he has endured for far too long.

Over the past month, Michael has shown incredible strength and resilience. He has since begun physical therapy and will hopefully be able to regain near-full mobility and return to hobbies like drumming again soon!

However, the financial burden of this surgery and the associated medical expenses are substantial. Despite having insurance, we are facing many out-of-pocket costs, including co-pays, hospital and surgeon bills, medications, and post-operative care.
